I’m Britni, the proud mother of a beautiful daughter and the founder of Mama of Joy.
After trying for three years to have a baby, my husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. At this point in my life, I started to evaluate the environment around me and what may be the cause for our infertility. I turned to a non-toxic lifestyle and spent more time reading labels trying to educate myself on the safest products available. We decided to try IVF and with a combined natural lifestyle, I became pregnant and was blessed with twins.
I had a high risk pregnancy and our son and daughter were born at 28 weeks. Our precious son met his heavenly father just two short hours after he was born due to complications. After spending 100 long days in the NICU, we brought our sweet daughter home. I was not only a first time mom, but also a preemie mom. I had to ensure she was in a safe, healthy environment due to her compromised immune system. I questioned everything and the internet was my best friend/worst enemy.
Our daughter is now a healthy toddler and has brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. I worked in the corporate world for 10 years and decided to become a stay-at-home mom once my daughter arrived.
I spend a lot of time researching what is best for my daughter from foods to toys and anything in between. I launched this blog as an outlet to share my thoughts and experiences of infertility and motherhood so far, in hopes to inspire you in your journey. I have so much to learn but every day of motherhood is full of sweet flashes of joy.
